Eventually, even digital data will no longer be owned by individuals on their own initiative. Whenever there is a major change or accident in the world, in a country, in a government, in an idea, in a trend, access to it may suddenly be cut off.
Yea I specifically placed the "skull health bar knights" in Cosmodrome for this reason. It was inspired from my experiences playing Dark Souls.
As a design lead, I had to ensure the 'skull knights' stayed in the game (we had A LOT of people working on these destinations). There were situations where other devs would say "These knights are too high level, this must be a bug. Delete them." and I would say "Nooo!!! Please leave them please, it's by design." π (I'm not blaming these devs, it was a very hectic project and everyone had different areas of focus.)
Happy to know players still have fond memories of these guys π
(There's a really tragic but also funny development story about these Knights.. but I'll save it for another time.)
This nigga went on a crazy ass rant to somebody he had just met then immediately grabbed his piece to go fight a 2 v 10 with that same stranger no questions asked. #RealNiggaAlert
I heard the tragic news that Vince has passed away. I still canβt believe it.
I first met Vince during his time at Infinity Ward, when he and Jason were creating βCOD: MW2.β After they were forced out of Infinity Ward, Vince went on to found Respawn. When I was preparing to go independent myself, and maybe because he felt we were in similar situations, he took the time to listen to me, offered advice, and supported me in many ways. He even showed me around the studio.
Even after he moved to DICE, whenever I went to Los Angeles, we would have meals together and talk about our respective futures.
I honestly donβt have the words. Itβs far too soon. This is heartbreaking.
R.I.P. Vince.
