โKung walang express constitutional prohibition, may kapangyarihan ang Senado na magpasya kung paano nito gagampanan ang constitutional duty to try and decide impeachment cases. โ
Sabi sa Article XI, Section 3(6) ng 1987 Constitution: โThe Senate shall have the sole power to try and decide all cases of impeachment. xxx When the President of the Philippines is on trial, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall preside, but shall not vote.โ
@jumelbornillamd@mvn_dn Exactly! When she compared VPโs 32M votes to the prosecutors who won votes cast at the district level, or the 156 party lists that vied for the 64-seat allocation in Congress, Sison was just comparing apples to oranges.
Just when I was starting to think the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) operates like a regular religion, they pulled this off: a surprise snap rally along EDSA protesting the imminent plunder case and possible arrest of one of their own, Sen. Rodent Marcobeta.
Reports confirm thousands gathered at the EDSA People Power Monument this morning, causing major traffic disruptions and frustrating morning commuters. Many are questioning why a religious group is mobilizing so aggressively to shield a public official facing serious corruption allegations.
Bad, bad idea, INC.
Do these people really believe the rest of the public shares this level of loyalty or "cult of personality" around their leaders and allies? Blocking one of Manilaโs busiest arteries isnโt just inconvenient, but it also alienates everyday Filipinos trying to get to work or caught up in morning commute.
The smartest move for INC leadership (Attn: Eduardo Manalo - get off your ass!) right now would be to immediately de-escalate: call off the disruptive protests, instruct members not to block traffic, and let the legal process for Marcobeta play out without turning it into a public spectacle.
Transparency and accountability should apply to everyone, including those with INC backing.
If you ask Him to, Jesus Christ will come into your heart and Heโll change you. Heโll forgive you and cleanse you of your sins. He will make you a new man or woman. #ThursdayThoughts

@AndresC02325048@verafiles If it is, itโs an unsatisfactory compromise. The last thing the Senate needs after the leadership shakeup is more bad optics.
โYet in the Gospel, that man was in paradise the same dayโbecause salvation was never about his works. It was about WHO he turned to in his last moment.โ
Thatโs how I knew Iโd see my mom in heaven. On her deathbed, she wished to know Jesus more.Sheโs got eternity to do just that.
The story in the Bible that rattled me before I converted to Christianity from Islam:
The two thieves crucified next to Jesus. I never knew about them. Bro. Theyโre the whole Gospel in one scene.
Two men. Same sin. Same cross. Same dying breath. Same distance from Jesus โ mere feet away on either side.
One mocks Him. One turns to Him and says, โJesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.โ
And Jesus tells the second man: โToday you will be with Me in paradise.โ Luke 23:43.
That man did ZERO good works. He couldnโt. His hands were nailed down. He never prayed five times. Never fasted. Never gave to the poor. Never got baptized. He had nothing to offer but a dying glance toward Jesus.
And Jesus saved him... on the spot.
In Islam, that man was doomed. No time to balance the scale. No deeds to weigh. Game over. A horrible life with a horrible punishment ahead.
I wonder if that would be meโฆ
Yet in the Gospel, that man was in paradise the same day โ because salvation was never about his works. It was about WHO he turned to in his last moment.
Two criminals. Same cross. One simple difference: which one turned to Jesus.
Thatโs why the Gospel is offensive.
And Jesus asks everyone: who do you say I am?
@italiathetruth@bamamaga3 Couldnโt agree more.
We are living in days where prophecy is unfolding. As Ptr. Andy Woods would say, I don't have a single problem in my life that the rapture wouldn't fix. The world we live in gets darker and darker by the day. I canโt wait to get out of here. We fly soon.
โOn that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the nations. All who try to lift it will be hurt.โ โ Zechariah 12:3
We are living in days where prophecy is unfolding.
