WHEN TRASH TALK GOES HORRIBLY WRONG 😳🥊

In November 2017, Deontay Wilder defended his WBC heavyweight title against Bermane Stiverne, the only fighter who had previously taken him the full 12 rounds.

There was plenty of bad blood between the two heading into their rematch, with Stiverne confident he could dethrone the undefeated champion.

But Wilder made sure there would be no repeat of their first encounter.

He knocked Stiverne down three times in the opening round, finishing the fight with just one second left on the clock.

Wilder moved to 39-0 with 38 knockouts, while Stiverne suffered the first knockout defeat of his professional career.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST UPSETS IN HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING HISTORY 😳🥊

On April 22, 2001, Lennox Lewis defended his heavyweight world titles against Hasim Rahman in South Africa.

Lewis was the reigning heavyweight champion and widely expected to win, with a potential blockbuster fight against Mike Tyson already being discussed.

But in the fifth round, Rahman landed a huge right hand that sent Lewis crashing to the canvas. The champion couldn’t beat the count, handing Rahman one of the most shocking knockout victories in boxing history.

Just seven months later, Lewis got his revenge, knocking Rahman out in the fourth round of their rematch to reclaim his titles.

ONE OF THE CRAZIEST SIZE MISMATCHES IN BOXING HISTORY 😳🥊

In November 2009, David Haye challenged WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, who stood 7 feet tall and outweighed him by almost 100 pounds.

Haye spent most of the fight using his speed to stay out of trouble, but in the final round he landed a huge left hook that left Valuev stumbling across the ring.

The fight went the distance, with Haye winning by majority decision to become heavyweight world champion.

It turned out to be Valuev’s final professional fight. Despite 53 bouts, the Russian giant was never knocked down or knocked out.

ONE OF THE MOST VICIOUS ONE-PUNCH KNOCKOUTS IN HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING HISTORY 😳🥊

On December 4, 2004, undefeated Nigerian heavyweight Samuel Peter faced veteran Jeremy Williams at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Before the fight, Williams had publicly questioned Peter’s punching power, claiming he wasn’t concerned about it.

That confidence didn’t last long.

In the second round, Peter landed a devastating left hook that sent Williams crashing to the canvas, knocking him unconscious and securing the NABF heavyweight title.

Peter would eventually become WBC heavyweight champion in 2008, but this remains one of the most memorable knockouts of his career.
