Only a few days after launch, Frontier announced a free update in December (and the coming weeks) to address many of the frustrations players are facing with Planet Coaster 2. 🙏 It’s great to see how quickly they’re responding and working on improvements! However, it does feel a bit like damage control, as many of these issues, in my opinion, could have been caught before launch with more testing..
This is something we’ve unfortunately seen before with Frontier; updates and releases that come with avoidable issues, making me wonder if enough time went into testing, or if quantity and a quick release were prioritized over quality. With Planet Coaster 2, some of the odd design choices and bugs have been especially frustrating for players, and they really feel like things that could have been avoided.. I genuinely hope Frontier is hearing our feedback and recognizes how much better testing before release would improve player experience and restore trust.. The hashtag #InFrontierWeTrust genuinly feels like a memory from a long time ago.. 😕
I do appreciate how hard the team is working to address feedback, but it’s hard to ignore that a smoother release (perhaps with a delay or launching first in beta or early access) could have spared players from many early frustrations and many negative reviews.. 🙄
For now, I’ll be waiting to see what December’s update brings, how many frustrations are being resolved, and hoping it can help turn around my personal dissapointment and the mixed reviews on Steam..
I’m still optimistic that Planet Coaster 2 will eventually become the game we Planet (Coaster) Game lovers have all been looking forward to, but it’s sad to know that a big group of players may never return again after being so disappointed in the first few days, just like we saw with Planet Zoo at its launch! 😔🙏

I really want to love Planet Coaster 2, but every time I try to create something, I rage-quit because things just don’t work as easily as they do in other Planet Games (e.g., advanced pathing takes forever, having to recolor an aquatic rock one by one because the game doesn’t save your recently used color, no multi-select option, having to click 4 times every time you just want to exit a menu—just to name a few). The game really screams console, which is fine, I guess.. but it doesn’t make the game very user-friendly for us PC players who have been loving and enjoying other Planet Games so deeply.. 🙏
Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo both felt like an incredible foundation for an amazing sequel like Planet Coaster 2, with the potential to bring even greater improvements. But instead, so many weird decisions were made, and great features from other Planet Games are just missing. It’s as if these games never existed, and they started from scratch with Planet Coaster 2..
I’m honestly a bit disappointed with the game right now and really hope Frontier can improve it over the next few weeks/months to make it more enjoyable instead of frustrating every time I try to play..🙈
Don’t get me wrong, Planet Coaster 2 definitely has great potential, but all these small frustrations are really ruining my experience and standing in the way of me loving this game and enjoying the amazing new features that were added..
For now, I’m going to leave the game as it is and focus more on Planet Zoo ♥️
