Putting aside the specifics of who is involved here, the pattern of “I dislike a person so I am going to obsessively read the worst possible spin on everything they say” is just an absolutely toxic mental state of being and I have zero patience for it
@bennyjohnson when i first saw the picture of an old man awkwardly holding an umbrella in the drizzling rain, i thought to myself "Impossible! This must be the work of some devious robot!" so thanks for clarifying
X is so hot right now! I mean this place has EVERYTHING. Words, videos, screenshots of tiktoks, banking, charli xcx, nazis, bots, kevin durant, and if the owner likes your memes you can even post child porn!
@raomeka23@nikitabier If it had become one of the most popular brands in the world under some completely different name and then out of nowhere changed all of its branding to Apple stuff because Tim Cook had always wanted to start an apple farm then yes that would make no sense lol
I have not seen the Barbie movie nor do I plan to but we need to have a conversation about its two lead characters being white and how it fails to center the voices of sweatshop workers.
@Jolteoff@SxarletRed to be fair, neither of us are saying that the situation itself is his fault
main criticism seems to be that his motives aren’t pure and he’s exploiting poor people for profit and for content meant to convince his audience that our system is working fine as is
@SxarletRed I mean some people definitely do that, but does mr beast (I genuinely don’t know)?
and in cases where people are masking the systemic issues, shouldn’t the focus be on pointing that out and making it clear that charity can’t solve the systemic issues?
