@adamtranter I recently bought a “beach wagon” to take all our beach paraphernalia (camping chairs, towels, wet suits, bucket and spades etc) onto the sands. It has quite a large capacity and it occurred to me that it could be brilliant for a big shop on foot! Might be considered cooler too!
@Bikery1966@RibbleCycles Lovely bike. I have a Ribble CGR Ti and love it - great for commuting, even along the slightly uneven Thames Path in Weybridge!
@adamtranter Understood- my experience in Surrey and knowledge of examples elsewhere is that the fees from speed awareness courses more than cover the running costs. Expansion can be paid for out of Local Authority capital budgets too.
@adamtranter Sorry this is wrong. Part of the fee that offenders pay to attend speed awareness courses goes back to the police force and this pays for the running of the police back office. It can be used to pay for the local authority’s costs in camera maintenance too. There
@SurreyRS Great work! Average Speed Cameras are coming soon for this stretch. They will improve compliance with the speed limit and reduce the risk and severity of collisions👍
@BuckCllr@Bikery1966 I’m not convinced that this offers much improved safety. It requires on crossing ped detection and these can go wrong and add more cost and maintenance liability. What happens if they stop working - do drivers assume they have right of way if the poles are not flashing?
@MPSHampton @MPSHamptonNorth@MPSRichmond@metpoliceuk@LBRUT Wow it must be Christmas if our police officer is smiling! 😀 I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and thanks for keeping our Community safe👍
