"Throwing a knuckleball for a strike is like throwing a butterfly with hiccups across the street into your neighbor’s mailbox,” - Hall of Famer Willie Stargell
OK, this is getting silly now.
In their last 14 games, the Brewers have started 0 pitchers that were on their 2025 opening day roster.
In that time they have gone 12-2 and starters have 73 IP, 94 K, 1.73 ERA, 0.97 WHIP
Yesterday we started running this ad during the Red Sox game.
Midway through the game the ad was taken down by the station (which is owned by Red Sox ownership).
And then the Sox blew a 4-0 lead.
Private equity is taking our homes. It's taking our hospitals. It's taking beloved local businesses and stripping them for parts.
And now private equity is running the Red Sox into the ground.

Trevor Bauer was cleared of any wrongdoing. He continues to be MLB caliber pitcher. And yet MLB refuses to sign him. Do the right thing and help yourselves also @SFGiants@SFGiantsFans#signtrevorbauer
The broadcast crew absolutely bodies Framber Valdez on the call: “The guy who started it is hiding in the back..let’s hope he doesn’t cross up his catcher now because he’s mad” 💀 💀
This is the first time I've heard this...
MLB umpires have 2 way microphones and are in contact with the ABS operator during the game getting feedback on their strike zone.
Personally, I think that's a tremendous use of the technology to help get more calls right.
This Reds player hit a HR for his first Major League hit. Mookie Betts knew that and went to the outfield and ask for the ball back. The fans gave him the ball and the next inning Mookie came out with a bat to give those fans. Absolutely awesome
Have you ever tried just...lifting your leg higher?
This was Nolan Ryan's key.
He swore that the higher he lifted his leg, the harder he threw.
It's not about the leg lift itself, per se; it's about what it does to set the pelvis into posterior tilt (belt buckle to the sky).
Because the only way to get your leg this high is to tilt the pelvis.
Tilting the pelvis influences the drift and provides more room in the rear hip to internally rotate.
Not sure?
Do a couple Skubal throws next plyo session, measure the velocity before/after, and decide from there.
But remember: it isn't necessarily about the leg lift height, it's about what that move automatically influences.
