get rid of any extra processes/steps that will prevent you from reaching any goal, uncomplicated routines = wins
Decision fatigue is REAL and very uncomfortable to go through on a daily basis and it feels SO rewarding to have a plan for it
this looks like:
planing your meals, taking those vitamins as soon as you wake up.
order your groceries ONLINE, you donโt need to leave the house, experience sensory overload, decision fatigue, have to get ready or travel anywhere,
a heated blanket is your friend, invest in a timer and turn your blanket on every morning and night at a certain time, this will help you deal with waking up much more easily than relying on just an alarm clock, those things are stressful. So make waking up nice.
Stop trying to fall asleep, you are not a regular person. and instead try to knock yourself out. do this by being so active during the day that you feel ready to knock out by the end of the day.
this is where relying on a rough routine and avoiding decision fatigue will have a positive compounding effect on life, it will make you active without much thought so you donโt end up procrastinating your whole day away and when itโs time to sleep you feel the need to be active
explore white/grey/brown noise from your phone, if you like it then get a proper machine
If you hate routine/repetitive workouts then invest in the right gear and start running, especially a running vest so you have no โplanningโ excuse, it will house ALL your essentials like phone, music, drinks, snacks, running essentials etc
avoid a lot of sugar late at night and instead snack on some veg or fruits
Limit alcohol consumption at home. Itโs a depressant.
You NEED to prioritise being around other people, you are a social being and you require the company of other people in order to be healthy.
meet friends, you cannot go the entire winter without seeing people, the point is to prioritise social activities and get your body moving, practice open loving communication and be thankful for life. If you have trouble being present, it helps to make it super obvious to your brain, start by listing/acknowledging and feeling the things youโre experiencing whether itโs the sound of laughing friends or the fact that youโre in safe company etc.
Mask up when in public transportation at the very least. You donโt want to fall ill. winter colds are brutal and covid is still around causing havoc.
And lastly, have a list on a journal ready and reach out to your GP. Thereโs no shame in needing extra help.
