@holmesholmeshol@Kryptotajeer It says the Quran affirms the Torah and Gospel as God's word, yet contradicts them. If the Bible is preserved, the Quran is false. If the Bible is corrupted, why does the Quran affirm it? Either way, Islam faces a contradiction.
@holmesholmeshol@Kryptotajeer The Trinity is one God in three eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in divinity. The Son became man in Jesus Christ, willingly suffered and died for humanity's sins, and rose again, conquering death, reconciling us to God, and opening the way to eternal life.
@DrDavidMiano Maybe it's just inarticulate. They aren't pretending to be archaeologists, they aren't pretending to have excavated.
They have alternative theories which is perfectly permissible in science - which is a methodology and not a guarded body of knowledge.
@holmesholmeshol@Kryptotajeer Be specific, use English and articulate what is "fabrication". The Quran is utter fabrication, coming over 500 years later and doing nothing but repeating known heresies.
@holmesholmeshol@Kryptotajeer The Quran affirms the Torah and Gospel as God's word, yet contradicts them. If the Bible is preserved, the Quran is false. If the Bible is corrupted, why does the Quran affirm it? Either way, Islam faces a contradiction.
@AthopeMarie@drleeclare Of course they are worth being taken seriously. Just because they are likely wrong doesn't mean their ideas shouldn't be tested.
We have gotten away from the idea that science is a methodology and come to believe its an approved body of supposed knowledge.
@drleeclare You know, I have a degree in Egyptology. I have excavated in Egypt, and been part of that academic world in one way or another since 1997. You guys are HORRIBLE communicators with the public.
1. There are levantine asiatic communities at Avaris with abandanment in Rameside period.
2. It doesn't have to be big.
3. Sinai hasn't been well excavated and there are many historic movements not yet evidenced through debris. Entire Roman armies. Persian armies, etc.
4. You are thinking of it in the modern sense like countries, that's not how it worked. Merenptah Stela evidences Isrealites in the Levant by his reign.
@PathsUnwritten@Megalithic12000 Name the historical inaccuracies without AI.
I'll explain how its nearly impossible to invent the story in a post exile context.
@matt_batterton@xbot911@drleeclare Yup, quite a lot of dogmatic positions being overturned by modern genomic research. Pots over People - poof, gone, and it was inarguable "fact" when I was in archaeology classes 20 years ago.
This is unfalsifiable archaeologically:
"WHY WAS IT BUILT? As a settlement for a growing population. Communal buildings provided spaces for gatherings, rituals and storytelling, helping to foster social cohesion during a period of profound transformation that ultimately led to food-producing lifeways and the emergence of the Neolithic."
