The situation at Gikomba is not as you are portraying it. The government is in the process of constructing a modern market to provide traders with safer, more dignified, and better-equipped working spaces.

Notices were duly issued to traders ahead of the exercise. This was not an ambush, but part of a planned transition towards improved infrastructure and organized trade.

While we must always ensure that such processes are humane and that traders are supported during the transition, it is misleading to incite the public by presenting a one-sided narrative.

Leadership calls for truth, responsibility, and solutions—not fear and political dramatization.

Let us focus on building, not misleading. Kenya deserves better.
