@al_bertoid Thank you for adding this. Elsewhere like in Germany they enforce the Green Space allocation. You can’t get away with certain things.
Bringing it to our local context, I feel we are not invested in seeing progress with our architectural landscape/ built environment.
Point perfectly put, however clients come with a preferred design intent choice and it more often than not aligns with the current architectural shift from what “was” to what we currently see. This drives us to stick with these minimalist concepts.
Like I say and will always say architects alone understand or know what architecture is. We do a good job at gatekeeping the knowledge and immense possibilities of providing the “character” element within our environment.
The thought of losing the client alone deprives us of standing firm on our decisions and results in us conforming to their wishes and demands. I think younger architects and older ones even , should be able to strike a balance when dealing with clients wishes a demands.
