@realyobarnub Just made me remember when my dad got to this stage when he was sick. Forgot how old I was then. He was mixing up our names, and couldn't recognise our voices anymore. It was a sad moment of our lives.

When I read the World Bank report on the GARID project on JoyNews, I said to myself, we all owe Ken Ofori-Atta an apology. He did his best during one of the most difficult periods in Ghana's history.

Ato Forson, the so-called "saviour" of Ghana's economy, all in the name of fiscal discipline, refused to release the funds meant for the GARID project, bringing critical flood mitigation works to a halt.

Today, his party members are busy applauding him for stabilising the cedi, yet lives have been lost and livelihoods destroyed because he chose not to release funds to complete these vital projects.

Ken Ofori-Atta never once sat on those funds because he understood the consequences of delaying projects designed to protect lives and property. He knew that flood control was not a political luxury it was a necessity.
History will judge the decisions made today just as it judged those made yesterday.
