This is the Growels 101 Mall in Kandivali, Mumbai.

I stay 5 mins away from this mall. It's a landmark in the area.

It opened to the public in 2010.

The HC ordered its closure, and it's now shut in 2025.

Why? Because it didn't have "environmental clearances".

Apparently, it took 15 years to figure and sort this out.

All this while - the mall flourished, brands came in, it started drawing big crowds. Now, it's "permanently closed".

Co-incidentally, the HC order comes out in the same week that another mall (Oberoi Sky City) has opened 10 minutes away in Borivali.
