Exciting news for FluoRok that has raised £7.7 million for scaling up and commercialisation of fluorination reagents and battery electrolytes. Congratulations to the team and all our investors.
🏆Congrats to Peter Roesky for being awarded the Marianne Baudler Prize of the GDCh from its President Stefanie Dehnen at the GDCh Conference on Inorganic Chemistry organized by Thomas Fässler and Shigeyoshi Inoue @TU_Muenchen. Roesky received the Prize for his achievements in rare earth elements chemistry, in particular for synthesizing spectacular sandwich compounds and single-molecule magnets. Roesky got his PhD at TUM where he worked with W. A. Herrmann, and he was a postdoc with Tobin Marks @NorthwesternU. Afterwards he habilitated @KITKarlsruhe and became Professor of Inorganic Chemistry @FU_Berlin from where he was lured back to KIT in 2008. Peter Roesky is the son of Herbert Roesky Professor Emeritus @uniGoettingen.

My mom passed a few days ago. There will likely be pieces written about her work, but I wanted to write something that got to the core of who she was. I hope those who knew her see her in it. And those who didn't get a chance to see her. Love to all.

In our end of semester OC Colloquium given by Prof. Marisa Kozlowski @KozlowskiMarisa from University of Pennsylvania we learned about high-throughput screening for identifying selective catalysts. Thank you Marisa for an inspiring day @fubcp @FU_Berlin
We are very happy that our first part of potential SF6 substitutes has now been published. Great challenge to develop PFAS-free replacements😉Congratulations to Paul and Gesa for a great job during the last years! Stay tuned for the next part of new substitutes @FU_Berlin, @fubcp
Zeinab Mahfouz created artificial peptide helices and studied how these foldamers self-assemble with native alpha helices. On January 31st she successfully defended her thesis. Congratulations, Zeinab, on your great results! Soon we will see them published.
‘Toxic’, the new @TheENDSReport and @WATERSHED_i documentary, is as alarming as it is important. #PFAS are called ‘forever chemicals’ for a reason and the harm they do can last thousands of years – and we don’t have time to waste.
