I went back to watch the full podcast. The question was: “How do you evaluate opportunities in upcoming IPOs?”

His first response was: “I don’t invest in anything; I invest in myself.”

He was clearly answering from the perspective of an entrepreneur, not an investor. But when he added that “investing is for lazy people,” I think he went too far.

I understand why many builders on X agree with him. Building a business is one path to wealth. But not everyone is wired to be a founder. Many people create wealth by identifying exceptional businesses and allocating capital to them. That also requires skill, discipline, patience, and hard work.

Entrepreneurship and investing aren’t opposing paths; they’re simply different ways of creating wealth.
