Remembering Late Corporal Awotile Deborah
Some soldiers fight battles on the frontlines. Others quietly serve with unwavering dedication behind the scenes. Every one of them wears the same oath to defend the nation.
On 11 October 2025, the Nigerian Army lost one of its own when Corporal Awotile Deborah passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Medical Reception Station (MRS), Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State. She was laid to rest with full military honours at the military cemetery in Kaduna, a fitting farewell to a soldier who served her country with commitment.
Corporal Awotile Deborah was enlisted into the Nigerian Army as a member of the 65 Regular Recruits Intake (65RRI) in August 2011 at the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria. After completing her recruit training, she was posted to the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps and began her military career at the 243 Reconnaissance Battalion, Badagry.
Throughout her years in service, she continually developed her professional skills by successfully completing several military courses, including:
β’ Tank Crew Training Course (A2) at the Nigerian Army Armoured School (NAAS), Bauchi.
β’ Basic Crewman Course (A3) at the Nigerian Army Armoured School, Bauchi.
β’ Basic Catering Course at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Benin.
Beyond her qualifications, those who served alongside her remember her as a hardworking, cheerful, generous, committed and dedicated soldier who carried out her duties with professionalism and humility.
Though her Military journey ended far too soon, her service, sacrifice and devotion to duty remain part of the enduring legacy of the Nigerian Army.
May the soul of Late Corporal Awotile Deborah rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Gone, but never forgotten.
Today, heaven rejoiced. π
By the grace of God, 10 precious souls surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ.
Bibles, tracts, and gospel booklets were distributed, and the seed of God's Word was planted.
Only God can do this. All glory belongs to Jesus Christ! Hallelujah! π₯βοΈ
