All the fucking WW3 hysteria, America and the UK are more divided than ever, Australia continues to burn, and now I'm seeing #activeshooter trending on Twitter in just 10 days.
What the fuck is 2020?
@Skoll_Shorties I tend to do both depending on my mood. Same way I enjoy both the radio and the ambient soundtracks in Fallout. Listening to late 2000s music while going throughout Quel'Thalas is just a vibe for me.
@Skoll_Shorties I agree on that. I think he'd have been much better positioned as an anti-hero. But I still think you could have had him as an antagonist and have it work well if he was at least allowed to live and make up for any mistakes he made as one.
Its crazy how Zul'jan and Liadrin are presented as opposing views and yet this story has done the two of them more disservice than any others. Liadrin feels indifferent towards Zul'jarra's desire to redeem her brother and Zul'jan's potential as an antagonist isn't fully realized.
@Skoll_Shorties I think its only a matter of time until we get some level of revival for Zul'jan as a character. I feel like Blizzard often reverses their mistakes if a character proves to have a big enough following. I just hope he doesn't get put in limbo for as long as Vol'jin has been lol.
I'm not thrilled at all with the overreliance on Arator in Midnight but Yuri Lowenthal absolutely did kill it in this. This coming out after most people have reached their absolute limit with the Windruner family in general... its just unfortunate for the actual talent involved.
Easily the worst executed cinematic and character death in years. Zul'jarra's stoic attitude makes little sense given how much emphasis was put on her love for her brother the whole storyline. Having him sacrifice the dagger to save her and just die anyway is a huge waste.
Midnight continues to have such a jarring amount of amazing troll moments inbetween some of the worst choices I've seen for them in recent memory. This quest with Nek'zali completely nails the vibe. It really feels like Midnight is an expansion with so many competing visions.
@Skoll_Shorties Thrall's connection with Azeroth going completely unacknowledged and unutilized will always be so jarring to me. Its like they refuse to acknowledge his tenure as the World Shaman. I disliked it in Dragonflight and I absolutely couldn't believe it happened again in TWW.
I think my biggest problem with making Zul'jan a villain outside of its conclusion is how the situation simply escalates too quickly. He lacks a Stratholme sort of moment to put him over the edge. They also don't ever let him amount to much more than a lackey to Malacrass.
The Coiled Isle is visually stunning. I do think it was a missed opportunity to only give Ula'tek a unique venom and not also some sort of connection to fel or disorder, especially given how Malacrass presented as a warlock in TBC. Would also help Midnight parallel TBC better.
Having loa unable to enter The Coiled Isle is such a strange thematic choice with the story pushing the idea Zul'jan's skepticism of loa is wrong. This could have been remedied if one of the loa made some sort of meaningful sacrifice for the Amani to show things are different.
@Skoll_Shorties The armor set you're using has had years of thought put into it and is something truly unique to him so I'm glad you're sticking with it! That being said, the Rexxar outfit could be a fun Hallow's End costume for him if you attend any events in-game for that.
Well, back to continuing the Curse of Ula'tek storyline. It'll be interesting to examine all this from the perspective of knowing what will end up happening to Zul'jan and Liadrin in the longterm. I gotta say the in-game cutscenes have really improved visually as of late.
@GennaBain@Totalbiscuit I was the biggest fan of TB since I was literally in middle school and still consider myself one. He touched so many hearts and inspired so many minds. Thank you sincerely for the part you played in helping him grow his presence on the internet. I miss him all the time.
