@lingerie_addict To me it's even a step before the weaving, just spinning yarn that's fine, and even, and strong enough to be woven requires sooo much practice and even then it takes ages to spin enough, let's say, fine cotton (which is relatively easy) to weave enough fabric for a blouse.
@BhimaNitai @bryngreenwood @sewistwrites That's pretty common in rural northern Germany too. Potatoes, cabbage, apples, flowers you can pick yourself, sometimes even eggs and slightly more expensive stuff.
@MeasuredAndSlow @lingerie_addict After I knitted my first sock I'm in constant awe of the people who invented knitting, and spinning, and those who got fibres out of nettle or flax for the first time.
Also my relationship with socks for a buck a pair has been deeply concerning since then.
@ask_aubry "My non-autistic savant special powers" is a weird way to say "I can talk about fantasy football for 16 hours straight and genuinely think that should be considered useful".
@ChrisDo23740504@dieworkwear@FatRatWithIron@hasanaketanbal Just make sure it's pure linen, then you'll never need to worry about wrinkles because in linen they're "allowed". Just wash it, carefully stretch it in shape and let it air dry.
