Foils can share a ton of similarities while possessing contrasting characteristics that bring certain aspects of the other character into sharper focus.

Here is how the creative team is setting up the symbolic contrast:

2. Character Archetype: God vs. Hacker/Scientist
3. Thematic Domain: Divinity/Mythology vs. Science/Technology
4. Mythological Identity: Mermaid/Lemurian vs. Werewolf

So maybe I’m abt to expose myself as a massive fucking idiot, but when I saw the recipe post, I didn’t really read it, I just saw it had the cocktails w a recipe & thought “oh, that’s cool that they made irl drink recipes so ppl can make them at home” and then kept scrolling.

Was I gonna make it? No. But I hardly think I’m the only one who had that initial reaction. I didn’t even consider that it was “obviously fake” bc ppl make drinks/food from movies/tv shows/games all the time & it seemed like the kind of thing LADS would do, since they constantly collab w irl food & drink places.

I also don’t know shit abt plants, & I didn’t know datura or flame lilies were toxic. I’m glad oomf posted a warning abt it, bc it spread awareness to ppl like me who don’t know shit abt plants, but who might’ve actually wanted to make the drinks.

I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to think there’d be someone out there who trusts Infold enough to not consider that they might post a drink recipe that will literally poison them, esp if there’s no disclaimer that it’s just for funsies.

I warned yesterday that people might use the holiday to stir everyone up again, and here we are: an unverifiable quote from an unnamed “official department,” already being used to argue that we simply need to escalate harder.

At first glance, the alleged logic sounds plausible: both choices cause trouble, so the company chooses the “lesser evil.” But think one step further. This is a business. Which side is actually the greater long-term risk: a loud minority that does not financially sustain the game, or the larger paying playerbase that keeps withholding its money?

Our leverage already exists: revenue, retention and the fact that the current situation is not sustainable.

Trying to “out-riot” CDG would erase the distinction between us. Infold would no longer see one side attacking Valko and another demanding his return. It would simply see Valko causing chaos whether he is released or not. That does not make bringing him back safer. It makes removing the common denominator look safer.

And before anyone lets this claim whip them into action: there is no source, no screenshot and not even the name of the supposedly contacted department. “Someone will release it later” is not evidence.

Being moderate does not mean being nice, passive, pro-PPG or willing to accept whatever they do. We are still boycotting. We are still withholding our money. We are still demanding Valko’s return.

The difference is that we understand how businesses work and apply pressure with strategy and logic instead of throwing ourselves at the first rage bait placed in front of us. Discipline is not surrender.
