Juan Soto is absolutely locked in — 94.1 mph average exit velo, 17.7% barrel rate, and a third of his contact in the launch-angle sweet spot. Truly a constant HR threat. He’s facing Luis Castillo who has been hittable for lefties this year, allowing a 46% hard-hit rate, 9.8% barrels, and plenty of air contact. Soto’s power profile matches up perfectly with Castillo’s splits, and while T-Mobile isn’t a launching pad, the quality of contact here makes one swing all it takes. I’m backing Juanjo to go yard.
Ketel Marte is also incredibly dialed. He’s driving the ball with authority — 91.2 mph average exit velo, 14.8% barrel rate, and a 48% hard-hit rate fuel consistent damage potential. Tanner Gordon’s contact profile is pretty limp, giving up 91.5 mph EV, 8.6% barrels, and 43.8% hard-hit while struggling against righties. Add conditions at Coors Field — thin air + mid-90s heat — and Marte’s bat is primed for lift-off. I’m trusting Pike to launch one.
