Due to the early kickoff time, campus roads will remain CLOSED following Saturday’s game as postgame traffic patterns are implemented.
Important reminders:
Access to the Ben Hur area from Nicholson Drive will be restricted. Please use Burbank Drive.

Roads surrounding campus will be restricted, with additional intersections and side streets blocked to manage traffic.

There is no set time for postgame traffic patterns to begin. Closures will depend on vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

If you need to return to campus, we strongly encourage you to do so before the start of the third quarter.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic officers.

Cold rain outside.

And one of my triplet boys says...

“Dad… can you make your potato soup?”

Hell yeah I can!

That one hits different.

My grandma lived to be 104 years old, and she taught me how to make potato soup.

Over the years, I’ve changed it.

Built more layers.

Added more technique.

Made it mine.

But every time I cook it, there’s still something in that pot that tastes exactly like Grandma’s love.

Yellow onions.

Carrots.

Celery.

Garlic.

A little red bell pepper because I’m from Cajun-land and apparently incapable of leaving well enough alone. 🤣

Yellow potatoes for flavor.

Russets mashed back into the soup with cream to give it that thick, velvety body.

Uncured bacon.

Kerrygold butter.

Chicken stock.

Salt.

Pepper.

Fresh chives.

And plenty of time.

Served with warm crusty spurdough bread because soup without bread is just poor planning.

This isn’t fancy food.

It’s better than that.

It’s the kind of meal that tells everyone sitting at the table...

You’re home. You’re warm. You’re fed. And you’re loved.

That may be the best recipe anybody ever handed down to me.
