@thornbird111@IrishTimesSport I’ve seen both incidents enough times to know both managers entered the field and had a physical confrontation with a member of the opposition team or backroom team (even though the Galway fella wasn’t officially listed). As I said it’s black and white as per the rule.
@thornbird111@IrishTimesSport It’s very obvious what both are, the ruling is intentionally broad to give the GAA scope to cover a multitude of incidents. However the issue is the minimum 12 week is not proportionate, in either case. But if it’s the only option it should have been applied to both Ger and Jim.
@thornbird111@IrishTimesSport Category IV(a)(ii) of the GAA’s disciplinary code, which covers:
“Any type of physical interference with an opposing player or team official.”
The rule carries a mandatory minimum sanction of a 12-week suspension.
It’s ridiculously harsh, but black and white. GAA Bottled it.
@dubdec@gaaleinster It’s more competitive now but for the wrong reasons, the standards are poorer now than before. Kerry, Donegal, Armagh etc won’t lose any sleep over being drawn against a Leinster team later on.
@BarryMurphy23@CrokePark@KatieTaylor I’d go myself. So Eddie Hearn just needs to back up the talk, get it booked and do his job as a promoter, build a strong card and sell it out. Everyone’s happy.
@BarryMurphy23@CrokePark@KatieTaylor The GAA aren’t the problem in the scheduling of the Katie Taylor fight. There’ll willing to do it but the promoter has to do his part. I don’t think Eddie is willing to gamble in hiring an 80,000 seater in case he doesn’t get it filled. He wants zero risk.
@MmaTwister Who is “they?”.
Katie Taylor can get her fight in Croker if Eddie Hearn and match room put the cash up to cover venue and security costs etc. Eddie wants the Irish state to fund it and he’ll walk off with a tidy profit.
@FAICoachDev@UEFA@Homefarm_FC Great stuff. Any indication of when the next National D course will be held to open up opportunities for those wanting to enrol on UEFA C afterwards.
@offtheball Colm O’Rourke, the biggest drum beater for “splitting Dublin in two” now openly admitting their success was cyclical…. He’s some bullshitter. No wonder @MeathGAA got rid of him!
@getoffthehill@YouBoysInBlue_ Cairns homes offered €75m for the golf course in October and it was rejected. The cost of land in Dublin is one of the biggest barriers to building a stadium. Can’t see it happening.
