Liverpool fans are a weird bunch. They want to sign the best players, but then cry when the youngsters don’t get as many opportunities. We’re Liverpool Football Club, not Brighton or Benfica. We compete for the biggest trophies and allow the youngsters to develop on their own time.
🚨🙅♂️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪 - @thejdtucker: Preston North End have suffered a blow in their pursuit for James McConnell, who is now set to remain at Liverpool for the season, with new manager Andoni Iraola rating the youngster highly.
The Lilywhites were set to beat Swansea to the 21-year old’s signature.
If Liverpool sign both Barcola and Mbaye, where does everyone fit?
Isak.
Ekitike.
Gakpo.
Barcola.
Mbaye.
Rio.
Muñoz.
That’s a lot of talent competing for three spots.
💙👋🏼 Rodri’s letter to Manchester City fans.
Dear City fans, I found that saying goodbye is one of the most difficult things in life but I am going to try. It’s hard to find the words to express how much gratitude, love and support me and my family have experienced all these years.
"I remember how I felt when I arrived, signing for the big Manchester City. It was a moment of pure excitement – ‘wow I am going to play with Kevin, Aguero, Silva, Bernardo, John and many others.’ I couldn’t stop smiling. And then Pep, waiting to teach me everything from day one. Pep I can tell you now, I couldn’t handle all those tactics in my head.
"But a question came to me, ‘could we handle all these expectations for the next years.’ I think that time answered the question. I knew I came into a top team but I never thought we could be able to create the legacy we made winning trophies, fans around the world, love and respect. We made an example to inspire the next generations not only because the success, also because the way we did it. And the fans were with us every step of the way.
"Many incredible moments come to my mind. My first trophy at City, in my first game. The last minute winners, like Arsenal away. Scoring in the Villa game to reach the Premier League, when it looked so tough. Scoring the goal to win the Champions League that we all wanted so much. The incredible reception you gave me after the Balon d’Or. You cannot imagine how proud I am to be the first player to win this award in a sky blue shirt. Making history, with the Treble, with Four in a Row. We saw things they’ll never see.
"And in the bad moments, also, you never let me down. My first day back on the pitch I realised how much you love me and I understood how special these fans were.
"City didn’t just make me a grow as a player. They made me grow as a human. I saw my brother graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University. I could see my girlfriend working for the NHS. Manchester shaped my whole life.
"I will never forget stepping onto the pitch, seeing a sea of blue sing ‘nah, nah, nah, nah…CITY’, taking my scooter into town for a coffee, walking through the parks listening to Oasis and always loving Manchester’s great rain.
"So City fans, it’s time to say goodbye, thanks to the club, the fans, the staff and my teammates. This journey couldn’t be the same without you, my heart will always be Blue.”
If our Summer transfer window is :
° Araújo 🇺🇾
° Muñoz 🇪🇸
° Barcola 🇫🇷
° Jacquet 🇫🇷
° Mbaye 🇸🇳
I’d like to see another midfielder, especially with the Jones news.
Expecting more outgoings to come still 🔴
Thoughts? 👇🏼
What is it with Liverpool fans and not wanting competition? Rio won’t want out if he has to compete with Mbaye…
Competition is necessary at elite teams.
If anything it’ll improve them both 👊🏼
Paying £120m and then stopping a generational talent from playing in his best position…
I’m excited about Barcola, we need wingers. But this doesn’t sit right with me. I have to admit it. #LFC
🚨 Tottenham Hotspur have approached Cody Gakpo's camp over a possible transfer from Liverpool.
No club-to-club discussions have taken place despite Spurs showing interest in the Dutch attacker.
Liverpool have no plans to sell Gakpo, who remains under contract for another four years.

The idea of Barcola and Mbaye arriving together is starting to get me excited.
One ready-made star.
One ridiculously high-upside talent.
Feels like the sort of planning top clubs should be doing.
FSG has sold nearly 38% of Liverpool FC to the 1892 Holdings consortium led by Amit Bhatia and including Jeff Bezos, a larger stake than the initially reported ~30%.
Bhatia will become vice-chairman, and the group holds an option to acquire a controlling stake within the next 12 months.
FSG retains majority ownership and operational control of the club.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) sold close to 40 per cent of Liverpool Football Club to the consortium including U.S. billionaire Jeff Bezos.
Early suggestions on both sides of the transaction indicated the purchased stake was in the range of approximately 30 per cent to one-third, but The Athletic can reveal the figure is actually much closer to 40 per cent, according to sources with knowledge of the deal.
1892 Holdings, a consortium headed up and led by Amit Bhatia, the former Queens Park Rangers co-owner who will take up the position of vice-chairman at Liverpool, has purchased around a 38 per cent shareholding in Liverpool.
That is a much more significant share of the club, while there is also an option for the consortium to buy a controlling stake in the Premier League side, as per the terms of their agreement with FSG, in the next 12 months.

[🟢] NEW: Rio Ngumoha set for prominent Liverpool role - but on the right
The 17-year-old is likely to feature more from the opposite flank this season as club try to complete the signing of Bradley Barcola from PSG.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola is with a view to playing him in his preferred position on the left.
