We recently visited the Antakya Blood Collection Unit, established with the support of the Korean Red Cross, and also had the opportunity to see the blood donation vehicle supported through the joint recovery efforts of the Korean Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent(@RedCrescent).

The visit became even more meaningful as the unit held its soft opening, where we celebrated its first blood donor—a small but symbolic moment marking a new beginning for blood donation services in Antakya.

Every donation can save a life, and every restored service brings a community one step closer to recovery. We are proud to continue supporting the Turkish Red Crescent in strengthening safe and sustainable blood services for the people of Hatay. ❤️🩸

Under the MIRAE Project, Sukjong Boo, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Türkiye, and Yusuf Ramazan Saygılı(@ramazansaygili1), Secretary General of the Turkish Red Crescent(@RedCrescent), visited the Gaziantep Community Center and the Mobile Child Friendly Space (M-CFS) in İslahiye.

During the visit, they observed Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities and met with children and community members benefiting from the project. The smiles of the children were a meaningful reminder of how humanitarian support can bring hope, comfort, and a sense of normalcy to communities affected by crisis.

Representatives of the Korean Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent(@RedCrescent) recently visited the construction site of the Multi-Purpose Community Service Center (MPSC), being built with donations from the people of the Republic of Korea. 🇰🇷

Just four months after construction began in May, the center is already taking shape, with its strong structural frame now clearly visible.

Once completed, it will become a hub for community recovery and resilience—supporting local livelihoods and entrepreneurship, providing psychosocial and community services for vulnerable families, and strengthening humanitarian assistance, volunteer coordination, and disaster preparedness in Hatay.

With completion currently expected in mid-2027, it was deeply meaningful to see the generosity and solidarity of so many people being transformed into a place that will serve the community for years to come.

Step by step, solidarity is becoming a lasting foundation for recovery, resilience, and hope. ❤️

🇳🇵 In response to the devastating floods in Nepal, the Korean Red Cross is supporting affected communities with relief supplies pre-positioned in Nepal with the support of @SamsungKorea.

Pre-positioning these supplies enabled the rapid distribution of essential relief items to displaced families immediately following the disaster.

Since the 2023 Türkiye earthquakes, the Korean Red Cross (KNRC) has supported Mobile Child Friendly Spaces (MCFS) operated by the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC), helping children in earthquake-affected communities with their psychosocial recovery and healthy development.

On 5–6 August, the KNRC and TRC visited Adıyaman for a field mission as part of the final evaluation of the MCFS project.

During the visit, we met with school personnel to hear about changes observed in the children and to review the achievements of the project. We also had the opportunity to speak directly with children who had participated in MCFS activities.

For children who had to adjust to new homes and schools following the earthquakes, MCFS became more than just a temporary activity space. It became a safe place where they could spend time with friends, express themselves, and gradually rebuild their everyday lives as well as a source of warm and lasting memories.

The MCFS project, supported by the Korean Red Cross through June 2026, continues from July 2026 under the MIRAE Project, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

Even after a disaster has passed, children’s everyday lives continue.
The Korean Red Cross will continue to stand by their side so that they can smile again, reconnect with one another, and dream of a brighter future. ❤️

The MIRAE Project—MIRAE (미래), meaning "future" in Korean—is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and implemented by the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) in cooperation with the Republic of Korea National Red Cross (KNRC) to support Syrians under Temporary Protection and host communities in Türkiye.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Türkiye, KNRC and TRC visited project sites in Konya to observe Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services, meet beneficiaries and frontline staff, and witness mobile psychosocial support activities for children living in seasonal agricultural worker settlements.

Reflecting the meaning of its name, the MIRAE Project is supporting children and families in building a brighter future through protection, psychosocial support, and community-based services.

Together, we will continue to stand alongside children and families, helping them build safer, healthier, and more hopeful futures.
