Couple of reasons in my opinion:
1. Mismatch price point.
US companies bayar GenAI Engineer $150K-300K karena mereka solve $10M+ problems. Indonesian companies? Most belum punya AI use cases yang justify even $50K/year
2. Low skilled labor cost
Cheaper hire banyak orang daripada invest di specialized role yang mahal + risky. Musuh utamanya masih UMR dan taraf hidup yg rendah. Masih byk tenaga kerja yg masih mau ngerjain menial work with low pay.
3. Birokrasi & pungli bikin operational overhead gila-gilaan
Companies prefer low cost volume play (10 junior devs) over high cost specialization karena margins udah kecil dimakan “admin costs”. Jadi kalo ada apa2, lebih mudah pangkas volumenya. Kebanyakan company fokusnya survive operational friction, bukan innovation.
