Happy #IndependenceDay Day to India 🇮🇳, one of the world’s great civilizations, a nation that has mastered the difficult art of being ancient in wisdom and ambitious about tomorrow.
India gave humanity philosophers, mathematicians, poets, warriors and reformers. As Swami Vivekananda reminded us: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”

The Bhagavad Gita teaches the discipline of doing one’s duty without being enslaved by fear or reward. The Sikh tradition gives us “Sarbat da Bhala”, seeking the welfare of all. Different traditions, one powerful idea: strength has meaning when it serves something greater than itself.

And India knows strength.

When terrorism knocks, India does not confuse fanaticism with activism. It has paid a painful price confronting jihadist violence and Muslim Brotherhood extremist networks alike, and it understands something the world sometimes learns too late: tolerance is a virtue; tolerating those who want to destroy tolerance is not.

India has survived invasions, partition, terrorism and countless crises. It gets knocked down, gets back up, builds another rocket, launches another company, wins another cricket match and carries on.

India is far more than a major strategic partner to the UAE. This relationship is built through trade, technology, energy, and security, but also through millions of human stories connecting our two societies. When times become difficult, real partnerships reveal themselves, and India and the UAE have repeatedly stood together.

Two ambitious nations. Two proud civilizations. Two societies that understand that peace requires strength, prosperity requires stability, and extremism must never be allowed to steal the future from our children.

From the UAE to India: Happy Independence Day.

May the Tricolour always fly over a nation that is secure enough to defend itself, wise enough to pursue peace, and confident enough to keep surprising the world.
