My oldest drew a castle and clouds, taped them to the wall, and started a princess story. Now the youngest is busy drawing new characters to join in. ✍️ I love their imagination! ✨

I’ve learned that just saying "Go study!" never works. 😅 So, I’m sitting right here with them to make sure it gets done.

My kindergartner started doing math last night... and didn't stop. 🤯

Started at "1+1=2" and went all the way up to "4096+4096=8192".

I taught them basic addition, but I never expected a 6-year-old to calculate powers of 2 up to 13 bits! 1024, 2048, 4096... beautiful numbers for a developer parent. 😂

Dev Update: Escaped the "SDK Swamp"! 🐊

After struggling with Facebook SDK tracking issues yesterday, I finally managed to fix it. Meta Ads for "Pettan" are officially LIVE! 🚀

Launching ads feels a bit like sending your kid off to their first day of school. You just hope they behave well and make friends (users)! 😂

Marketing: Meta Ads setup complete & launched.

■ Plan for Tomorrow 1. Localization (v1.0.3)

Adding Spanish (Español) 🇪🇸

Adding Polish (Polski) 🇵🇱 Kids laugh the same in every language, so I want to remove the barriers.

I actually banned using my own app at home for a while. 🚫

The reason? AdMob anxiety. 😅 I was so afraid of getting hit with "Ad serving limited" due to Invalid Traffic (using it myself/family usage) that I decided to seal it away to protect my account.

But last night, my daughter suddenly asked: 👧🏻 "Dad, I want to use that timer app again!"

I hesitated... The developer in me was screaming "Risk!", but the dad in me wanted to see her happy (and eating). So, I caved and launched the app.

The result? She finished her dinner at record-breaking speed. 🍽️💨

The gamification effect was instant. It reminded me exactly why I built this in the first place.

I think I’ll start using it again occasionally... while being extremely careful not to touch any ads. It's just too useful to keep locked away!

Dev Update 🛠️

Trying to set up Meta Ads for "Pettan", but I'm completely stuck on Facebook SDK tracking issues. It just won't verify. 😩

Spending my limited free time fighting with configurations instead of coding is painful... but that's indie dev life.

Tomorrow's goal: Fix this and launch the ads! 🚀

Just got the email from Apple about VAT changes in Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Finland, etc. 📧

Sometimes we complain about the 15-30% commission, but honestly? Having Apple handle tax compliance for 175 regions automatically is worth every penny.

If I had to do this manually, I'd never ship a single line of code. 😅

I was "Client Zero" for my own app this morning. And honestly? It saved me. 🥺

The morning started rough. My youngest (preschooler) refused to eat breakfast for 30 minutes, just playing around. I lost my patience, snapped, and made them cry. The vibe in the house was terrible, and the "parent guilt" was kicking in hard.

In a desperate attempt to fix the mood, I opened my app, "Pettan."

My kid, still teary-eyed, agreed to tap the screen. We filled the gauge, and the mission that popped up was: "Make funny faces at each other 🤪"

In an instant, the tension vanished. We both burst out laughing. My kid was happy again, but more importantly, my own anger and stress completely melted away.

I realized today that I didn't just build a game for kids. I built a "reset button" for parents like me who sometimes lose their cool.

It feels amazing to be saved by the software you wrote. Best QA session ever.

1. Discovery: Mostly Meta Ads (A/B testing creatives).
2. Value: The moment they complete a mission and laugh.
3. Stuck: "Retention" is the biggest challenge.
They love it, but forget to open it during chaos! 😅
