If you are a full time touring musician it is very important that you take random days where NO ONE can get a hold of you. Just because you don’t have a conventional 9-5 doesn’t mean that everyone should feel like they have access to you 24/7. People gotta learn to fuck off 🥰
If you need a substance to feel normal (see: supplement, caffeine, nicotine, THC), I don't blame you.
BUT understand that your substance of choice can tell you something about your unique physiology. Exploring your addictions can give you significant insights. It can lead you down a path of fixing something deeper, be it psychological or biological.
Don't kick yourself for "needing" something, but also understand that you don't actually need it. Approach it with curiousity and observation, like you would observe a lab rat.
'Nightcall' was & still is the most iconic synthwave song bar none, with no better showcase of it than the intro to 'Drive'. Often you can forget the impact of such special songs once they become so ubiquitous with respect to their genres, but this one never fades.
RIP Kavinsky
The old floorboards creak and complain,
A chill slides like ice through the vein.
A restless ghost wanders the hall,
Carrying sorrows deep into the dark's thrall
