On the eNaira issue, the government of Nigeria has never done any business well. They’re terrible at doing business, they can’t even create an enabling environment for businesses. NNPC, NEPA, NITEL, ASCL, NRC…endless list.

Why will anyone trust them with their money now???

The enabling environment for digital transactions was laid on several foundations by previous admins from GSM reforms to Tech laws and innovations to banking consolidation - Govt doesn't need to play in a sector before it impacts the sector.

These ones just want to play.

Seems the APC regime is unaware that many unbanked people in rural areas already receive funds digitally via local POS operators despite many banks with easy-to-open accounts.

Expecting such people to have a BVN and open an eNaira account is a waste of effort and funds.
