Watch @ETFOpresident Karen Brown offer insight into the #onted teacher recruitment and retention crisis and ways the Ford government can address the growing issue.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but when employers implement “attendance review” programs, ostensibly to monitor employee wellbeing, what they’re really doing is intimidating employees into not using their contractually allocated sick days, and coming to work sick.
Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer (FAO) has pegged the overall cost of the Ford government's unlawful Bill 124 at $13.7 billion.
This egregious misuse of taxpayers' money and violation of workers' rights will not be forgotten. #onpoli#onted

After years of progress, seeing symbols of identity for a community being attacked and outright denied is so disheartening. Flying a flag in #onted is an important political statement about inclusion and acceptance. The ETFO office will continue to display it proudly. #onpoli
The month of June is internationally recognized as Pride Month. Promoting and recognizing Pride month is important as it honours past history and future advocacy related to civil rights and gender diversity. #PrideMonth2023

We oppose the government’s plan to lift the mask mandate in schools as of March 21 and believe it will jeopardize the safety of students, staff & our school communities. See our full statement here: https://t.co/bF4JgzYV9w #OPCLeadLearn
Today, Ontario announced changes to COVID-19 requirements effective March 21, including lifting mask mandates in schools. Please note that the UGDSB continues to have a Board Resolution requiring masks in schools. We will consult w/the CMOH and will provide additional info today.
Let's put this anti-vax convoy into perspective. In Ukraine, people live in fear of being invaded by Russia. In Afghanistan, people live in fear of being killed by this or that faction. In Canada, grown men & women are thundering towards Ottawa because they don't want a needle.
