Grzegorz Braun Polish politician yesterday damaged a UPA monument close to the Ukrainian border.
The monument is at the mass grave of 41 UPA soldiers who died in 1946 fighting the NKVD. The granite obelisk has stood there since 2019.

The UPA was a fascist guerrilla army made up of Bandera followers and former Nazi collaborators which, together with the local Ukrainian peasant population, murdered 80–120,000 Polish civilians in 1943–44 with medieval brutality. With axes, pitchforks and scythes.

A 15-meter bronze Soviet soldier has been unveiled on the banks of the Amur River in Khabarovsk, commemorating the Soviet victory over militarist Japan and the end of World War II.

The soldier is depicted smashing a border marker bearing the chrysanthemum, a symbol of Imperial Japan, with the butt of his rifle. Residents of Khabarovsk have already given the giant soldier a name: Ivan.
