Mayor known for good urbanism, urban revitalization, and designing safe streets throws his hat into the ring to lead America. Imagine the possibilities... https://t.co/rsQk5sFUxk?
@DonaldShoup@StreetsblogUSA The more we build auto transit dependent landscapes("now hiring landscapes"), the less informed the voters, who have to drive there, will be in the voting booth. To some extent suburban sprawl promotes obedient consumers rather than informed citizens.
We allow economy of scale force to impose Walmart, Amazon, Facebook, etc.(and all the negative consequences), but are afraid to allow the public to benefit from the same math on a public healthcare system. Shouldn't we "promote the general Welfare" of our fellow citizens?
In my on-boarding to Congress, I get to pick my insurance plan.
As a waitress, I had to pay more than TWICE what I’d pay as a member of Congress.
It’s frustrating that Congressmembers would deny other people affordability that they themselves enjoy. Time for #MedicareForAll.
"Spreading homes and businesses out across the landscape is really expensive. Driving for every daily need is really expensive. We’ve locked ourselves into an incredibly expensive way of living without any real fallback position..." https://t.co/xbuiobd7Az
Scale comparison: A D.C. suburb where we are working, and Dupont Circle. Or, how an obsession with motordom socially, physically, environmentally, and economically impoverishes our nation.
Too many of us have been affected by gun violence in school. We refuse to live in fear. We must put an end to this. Sign the petition here: https://t.co/j2PTXghy2j #MarchForOurLives

The most amazing thing about this absolutely amazing car commercial, is that it doesn’t seem to realize how effectively it makes the point that cars are a huge waste of space in cities. #multimodalcities HT @javiermalagon
Chicago's @DivvyBikes system got high marks in a recent study comparing it to networks in London, New York, and Paris. "Chicago has been consistent in delivering a reliable bike-share scheme to its riders." https://t.co/CS0VgFOjD7 H/T @SRAMCyclingFund
