The mid-1930s witnessed a truly national anti-fascist mass movement, far beyond East London, as confrontations with the BUF took place in city after city in these pivotal years.
At its peak, the Jewish Labour Bund was the largest Jewish political movement in Eastern Europe.
They were secular, socialist, and anti-Zionist from the very beginning.
For decades their history was buried.

Molly Crabapple on Jewish people turning away from Zionism:
'Anyone w/ a good soul looks at the fucking savagery, the horror inflicted on Palestinian people, Lebanese people, Iranian people, people in Syria… they want nothing to do with Zionism'

'We're fucking born here'
The Jewish Labour Bund didn't just oppose Zionism politically. They fought for the right of Jewish people to stay in their homes in Europe.

🤬Where’s the outrage at Muslim car firebombed? Is it only Jews you care about? Is your outrage only reserved for 'Jewish ambulance'? Where’s the establishment condemnation of this vile act? I blame Reform, Restore, Conservative & Labour for peddling anti-Muslim hate for their political agenda!
The real life consequences of politicised hate & weaponised bigotry against Muslims to serve Zionism and Britain’s inherent Islamophobia are plain to see.Reprehensible.

The story of last night’s riot in Southampton shows that the far right are not seeking justice for Henry Nowak & his family - they are using the tragedy to promote their own divisive agenda.
Don’t let fascist Tommy Robinson, Nigel Farage & the far right divide us.
Now is always the time for solidarity.
Even when facing their own annihilation, our ancestors in the Jewish Labor Bund courageously advocated solidarity. From the depths of the Warsaw Ghetto, Bundists wrote a letter calling for the British to release Gandhi from prison. They spoke out against injustice across the world and they forged coalitions with their neighbors. 🧵
Danny Ayalon having a history lesson is probably my favourite thing on the Internet today.
"We didn't come to Israel, we didn't immigrate to Israel.
Israel came to us."
One direct challenge, and his talking points fell apart in real time. #Israël
@mollycrabapple A new little war has broken out: how to stamp out ‘neo-Bundism’. I’ve seen it several times this last week. Some histories must not be heard. Some histories must be heard but only to mock and censure them.
Spot on from these pundits talking about the future fixture of Ireland v Israel and why it should not go ahead
Such a truthful conversation is unthinkable on British TV
Today our members passed this motion to move to indefinite strike action if 100% pay deductions are imposed by management.
Punitive deductions are an attack on our members and our right to take industrial action. We will not work without pay.

Today I am going on London march to remember the Nakba and to protest against Israel’s continuing GENOCIDE in Gaza, crimes against humanity & war crimes on West Bank & in Lebanon AND UK’s complicity in Israel’s crimes
As a Jew, as a Brit, as a human being these ARE my business
We wouldn't be in the place we're in this morning if the police had acted differently. The annual Nakba march is a landmark. We asked the Met for a route - by March they'd granted the political centre of London to Tommy Robinson
