Been a while!
For something a bit different I've put together a (somewhat cheeky) look back at this year's Festival of the 4 Winds in Guild Wars 2.
Music is "Summer Vibes" by kulakovka - it's royalty free.
Ultimately, even though the events remained popular, my enthusiasm died out because I realised I was at the ceiling of what I could reasonably achieve without additional support. ArenaNet could have easily prevented that if their engagement had been consistent.
@Snebzor hey Sneb, I'm just catching up on the latest TeaTime and your points around the lack of visibility for community events really resonated with me. I do have direct experience with hosting casual PvE events back in 2013-2015 which ArenaNet did, occasionally, help promote.
Moreover, when I asked for some more direct support from ArenaNet (outside of posts on Twitter and Facebook), I was treated quite patronisingly - even though I was choosing to spend my free time hosting these events. It really discouraged me.
Our @GuildWars2 Holiday Calendar 2022 is now live, this year with a prizepool of 98378 gold!
Check back every day to enter for prizes and enter for the big prizes drawn on the 20th - 25th of December at the bottom!

@The_Noxxi it wasn't really until i started raiding that i really grasped the importance of all the boons, what cc skills make a difference, how the different classes work together etc. and yet i had managed to participate in the game for almost 10 years to that point in ignorance
@The_Noxxi that was pretty cool, and tbf i agree with mostly all of it. i think people massively underestimate the complexity of GW2 combat, and that is driven in part by how the image of the game portrayed through marketing is one of a vast world to explore, not a complex system it is
