Today 10 June 2026, we were honored to welcome His Excellency Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, for the official inauguration of the Youth Hub of the Kurdistan Foundation.
This milestone marks the opening of a dedicated space designed to empower young people, support their ambitions, and inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.

In the second phase of the project, 150 new bins will be installed to collect over 3 tons of recycled waste per month, aiming to build a culture of environmental protection and ensure a healthier and cleaner environment.
Today, May 24, 2026, we were proud to participate in the greening project of 42,000 square meters in the Krekaran neighborhood of Erbil.
In addition to making Erbil’s environment cleaner and greener, this project is a clear reflection of the Kurdistan Foundation’s commitment to protecting and restoring the environment and the beautiful nature of Kurdistan.
A delegation from the Kurdistan Foundation, led by Dr. Yara Barzinji, Director of the Foundation, visited the @KRG_DFR today, where they were received by @SafeenDizayee, Head of DFR.
The meeting focused on issues of mutual interest and explored avenues for enhancing cooperation between both sides.
Mr. Dizayee reiterated his support for the Kurdistan Foundation’s initiatives in advancing youth empowerment, education, and climate change-related efforts in Kurdistan and beyond.

A historic step toward making knowledge accessible to all
The Kurdish Text-to-Speech (KTTS) application, as an effective technological tool, provides opportunities for literacy to thousands of visually impaired individuals and those who have been deprived of education. This project reflects our vision of serving humanity and integrating technology into daily life, aiming to build the nation and achieve an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
At the historic Akre Barracks (Qishla), and in the presence of Mr. Arin Barzani, Founder of Kurdistan Foundation, the first Kurdish Text-to-Speech (KTTS) application was officially launched.
During a distinguished ceremony that reflected the rich and longstanding history of the Kurdish language, the application was announced as officially available to users.
As part of its “Innovation for Hope” project, the Kurdistan Foundation announced its full support to expand this initiative on October 25, 2025, , which initially existed only as desktop software.
Today, the technology is available as a mobile application, enabling thousands of people across Kurdistan, especially the visually impaired, to benefit from its services.
Following the directives of Mr. Areen Barzani, Founder of the Kurdistan Foundation, and in fulfillment of the first clause of the MoU signed last December, the renovation of the Hawler Medical University library has been successfully completed.
This initiative, which provides a modern and enhanced academic environment for students, marks another strategic step toward building and serving the homeland.
We were delighted to host the largest live art exhibition at the @youthhubkrd, bringing together 384 artists of different ages and skill levels in a dynamic live painting competition.

Kurdistan Debate: Empowering the Next Generation
Kurdistan Foundation and Cambridge International School have signed an MOU to launch a strategic partnership. This collaboration includes full scholarships for top students, advanced teacher training, and support for the "Kurdistan Debate" program which officially kicks off on May 4th, 2026.

On April 27, 2026, the “Innovation Showcase” exhibition was officially inaugurated at Youth Hub under the supervision of Mr. Areen Barzani, founder of the Kurdistan Foundation.
The exhibition brought together 100 talented children and young participants, who presented their projects across a range of fields including artificial intelligence, coding, programming, and broader technology.
Alongside this, the Youth Hub’s art gallery featured a dedicated exhibition of AI-generated artworks created by participating youth. These pieces offered creative reflections on the past, present, and future of Kurdistan, expressing the imagination and perspectives of the young contributors.
In the presence of Areen Barzani, Founder of Kurdistan Foundation, and on the occasion of World Earth Day, a collective cleaning campaign was launched at the Bastora Dam.
During the cleanup operation, over (100) volunteers participated, collecting more than (1,000) waste bags, amounting to nearly (400) tons of various waste materials.
Additionally, gloves and trash bags vending machines were permanently installed close to the dam, as well as customized trash bins and awareness raising signages.
This initiative is a significant step toward preserving our nation’s nature, aiming to collectively build a brighter and more prosperous future for generations to come.
