Hey guys! Some people have been asking if I'm leaving the fandom.
The answer is no I'll still be part of the fandom and will continue making drawings and fan art. However, I won't be playing the game anymore nor support/defend Qwel actions.
Qwel has handled this situation pretty poorly and still hasn't responded to it. She hasn't even left a small message saying she's working on a response nothing at all.
Just so you know, several content creators and well-known members of the fandom have already stepped down because of this situation (temporarily)
It's completely fine to make fan art of Dandy's World. However, I encourage people not to buy merchandise, game passes, or spend money on the game, since doing so directly supports Qwel. The more people spend on the game, the more money she receives.
If the player count were to drop significantly, maybe it would finally bring attention to this situation and encourage her to address it.
I am retracting all of the comments I liked that defended Qwel without fully acknowledging the situation.
Qwel is an adult and someone many people looked up to, but in the end, she wasn't who she appeared to be. She disrespected and lied not only to the victims but also to her own community.
At this point, Qwel is essentially in a checkmate position. If she doesn't make a public response, address the situation, or take accountability, she's putting her career at serious risk. She has collaborated with major artists like OR30 and CG5, as well as companies. She's also known for creating a game aimed at children, and even Scholastic a well-known publisher of children's books has collaborated with her.
If these collaborators become aware of the situation and believe it reflects poorly on their values, it could seriously damage her reputation and career.
