When a series of developments related to Punjab are viewed together, they raise several serious questions that deserve clear answers.

Most recently, SHO Gurinderjit Singh Nagra of Tanda Police Station has been accused by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in connection with an alleged $400,000 extortion scheme. According to the allegations, a family residing in the United States was threatened, while their relatives in India were allegedly implicated in a false murder case.

This follows a pattern in which Punjab-linked gangsters , including Goldy Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi, and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria have drawn international attention. Goldy Brar, in particular, continues to be a wanted fugitive for Indian as well as foreign law enforcement agencies, with a monetary reward announced for information leading to him.

Another incident also warrants attention. During the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann publicly stated that Goldy Brar , the alleged mastermind in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala , had been arrested. Shortly afterwards, however, Punjab Police clarified that no such arrest had taken place. That naturally gave rise to an important question: what was the basis of the original public announcement?

If Goldy Brar had indeed been arrested at that time, how is he still a fugitive today? Conversely, if he had not been arrested, what was the basis for such a definitive public claim? These are legitimate questions that continue to remain unanswered in the public domain.

During the same period, interviews of Lawrence Bishnoi conducted from inside prison surfaced publicly, raising serious concerns about prison administration and security. Now, with a Punjab Police officer facing serious allegations from an international investigative agency, these developments collectively raise broader questions about law enforcement, institutional accountability, and governance in Punjab.

The Punjab Police once earned immense respect for its courage, professionalism, and extraordinary sacrifices in defending the nation against terrorism and safeguarding public order but today has become a subject of global embarrassment.

मामला UP के बुलंदशहर का है, जहां एक नाबालिक मुस्लिम बच्ची का निकाह पुलिस और 'चाइल्डलाइन' की रेस्क्यू टीम ने रोका तो मौलानाओं ने मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ और कुरान का हवाला देकर FIR रद्द करवाने हाई कोर्ट गए.
