Myths about yesterday's hearing.

I was the advocate in the matter, and much of the discussion on X has completely misinterpreted what was argued and what the Court observed.

• This case concerned the OBC creamy layer in Karnataka. It was not a case about SC/ST reservations.

• The judge's observation was broadly along the lines of: "Should the children of IAS officers continue to receive reservation benefits?"

• Even today, children of IAS officers are excluded from OBC reservation benefits under the creamy layer framework.

• Their exclusion is based primarily on status and position, not on salary.

• Importantly, in the present case that I represented, the petitioner's parents were Group C employees working as primary school teachers not IAS officers or holders of any high constitutional or executive office.

• We were successful in securing the issuance of notice by the Court. So far, the matter has proceeded positively.
