At 2 AM, a local resident attacked newborn puppies with a heavy brick while their mother was away, leaving them with severe head trauma, facial swelling, and neck injuries.

Rescuers from the Voiceless Voice Foundation intervened, confronted the perpetrator, and immediately rushed the puppies for emergency veterinary treatment.

A formal police complaint alongside official medical reports has been submitted at PS Division No. 1, Pathankot.

When the Manusmriti existed, women could learn, debate, compose, govern and fight.

Ahilyabai Holkar became one of India’s most admired rulers. Jijabai raised Shivaji and played a profound role in shaping the man who established Hindavi Swarajya. Rani Lakshmibai learned the art of warfare and fought the British on the battlefield. Women were also known as Brahmavadinis, women devoted to the pursuit and teaching of knowledge.

Kings were not always the sole authority in matters of governance; queens and royal women often participated in affairs of the state. When the Manusmriti existed, women such as Mirabai could choose their spiritual path and figures like Ravidas were revered across social and political hierarchies.

And when the Constitution of India was being framed, 15 women entered the Constituent Assembly without any provision of reservation including women from diverse and historically disadvantaged backgrounds.

India’s history is far more complex than the convenient claim that women had no agency, voice, intellect or power before modern constitutional reforms. Read history in its entirety before rewriting it.
