The victim, Mayank Lohar (22 years), and the accused boarded the Churchgate–Nallasopara Fast Local (Train No. 90663) on 23 June 2026, at Andheri and were travelling in the same first-class coach. An argument reportedly broke out between the two passengers regarding closing of the coach door during heavy rain. During the altercation, the accused allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen, causing serious injuries. The stabbing took place inside the moving train between Andheri and Borivali stations. At Borivali station, the accused deboarded the train before it came to a complete halt on PF No. 06 and fled from the spot. The incident is under investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP). Western Railway is extending full cooperation to the investigating authorities and remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all passengers through a prompt and coordinated emergency response.
