@jimwills21@UberFacts Actually, in terms of number of camps, the US liberated more camps. People think it’s the Soviets because they liberated Auschwitz. The Soviets did sadly have the most losses during WWII. https://t.co/4tJhmHWr6S
@HoustonWickert@catholicpat Exact same thing happened to my husband. As a Protestant, he wasn’t use to clergy being moved around & he loved our priest. But, our priest was a “fixer priest.” Our parish was deemed fixed so he moved on.
#OTD My great-great-aunt Mildred Harnack was beheaded on Hitler’s direct order. Born in Milwaukee, she was 26 when she moved to Germany to pursue a PhD. As an American grad student in Berlin, she saw Germany swiftly progress from democracy to fascist dictatorship 1/9
@Jolz_Aust I’m sorry you’re having such a difficult time. A little distance gives room for breathing. If you feel you want a gentle voice, I recommend Fr. Dave, our online priest. When the harshness gets to us, he’s a dad joke away from making us feel better. https://t.co/P6sDFhr9Rk
@KyleJamesHoward I received that call the day before a job interview. I had to leave my interview early fir more emergency testing. My boss hired me because he thought I was nice to do it and would make a good match for his boss. I ended up marrying his boss. Great things come from donations.
@Christmas_corgi@BetteMidler I think a lot of teachers feel uncomfortable with it due to the world. At our local school, the younger grades have a sign going into class: they pick if they want a high five, a hug, a hand shake or a wave good morning as they greet their teacher.
@catholicpat Right now, I’m listening to Catechism in a Year from Ascension Press. It’s very good.
Two of my favorite podcasts are
1.” Empty Frames” - season 1 Isabella Stewart Gardner Heist was fabulous
2. “Mobituaries” - amazing, well researched stories with @MoRocca
