The amount of posts I see on Facebook asking for advice in what to get husbands or kids for Christmas astonishes me. Do you not spend every single day with these people? Do you not know them like at all? I'm so confused.
Is this what parenting is? Making up the most irrational fears that have absolutely no merit to justify being controlling or forcing your child to life a sheltered life? 😅
A mom literally posted about her fear that her son will get snatched up if he goes and knocks on the door of someone's home whilst trick or treating and all I can think is how irrational that is because 1. You're literally there 2. You literally know where they live lolol what?
I spent the first 15 years of my life being forced to grow up too fast, and I've spent the next 15 years of my life facing traumatic experience after traumatic experience.
I haven't believed in myself because my whole life has been filled with traumatic experiences and I literally have years of time blocked from my memory to protect me.
When you have to spend a little bit more at the gas station, the grocery store, or on other basic needs for a while, remember and be thankful that you're not suiting up in military gear in your home to fight the war happening on your doorstep. Change your perspective.
