Paldies mūsu #NATO sabiedrotajiem no Francijas!
Thank you, our French🇫🇷 Allies, for taking down the drone that flew into Latvian airspace! #WeAreNato and we are #StongerTogether
“Kůň před chcípnutím nejvíc kope.” Putin je jako Hitler. Mezi Hitlerem a Putinem není zásadní rozdíl. Za jeho teroristické útoky a vraždění civilního obyvatelstva bude souzen stejně jako fašisté v Norimberku a stejně bude i potrestán. Slava Ukrajině! 🇺🇦 Slava Herojam!
Two women killed. Dozens wounded. Yet another vile strike by Moscow against Kyiv and its residents.
Last night, the Russians targeted the very heart of our capital. The National Art Museum, the Philharmonic, the Music Academy, and the Yaroslav the Wise Library were badly damaged. The Chornobyl Museum was almost completely destroyed. Architectural landmarks of Podil and the historic center were also damaged: the Contract House, the Postal Station, the Church of the Nativity of Christ, the Kyiv Opera, and schools.
This is a war against our culture, memory, and identity. For centuries, Moscow has tried to destroy everything that makes us Ukrainian. This is genocide.
We are documenting each of these crimes for future tribunals. Our memory cannot be burned away by missiles. We will rebuild everything.
My deepest condolences to the families of those killed. Strength to all Kyiv residents affected by this attack.
Glory to Ukraine!
The American-led negotiations in Ukraine prolonged the war by encouraging Putin. The Russians dangled ludicrous business"deals" in front of Witkoff and Kushner who were too gullible to understand that they were being manipulated. Good the US has abandoned this failed policy
HODGES: Eventually Ukraine will be invited to join NATO, people will wake up and realize that we'll get better the day Ukrainians are members. Ukraine is best military in Europe. Ukraine is becoming net security exporter. Ukraine's going to be heart of European defense industry.
Just spoke with President @edgarsrinkevics about recent events in Latvia 🇱🇻 including drone incidents. NATO is fully committed to the security of all Allies, and we will continue to ensure that we have all we need to defend every inch of Allied territory
Claims that the Baltic States allow Ukraine to use their airspace are utter nonsense - and Russia knows it.
Moscow’s threats against the Baltic States are not a sign of strength, but of weakness.
Russia is failing on the battlefield in Ukraine and is trying to intimidate us into reducing our support for Ukraine.
The right response is to do the opposite: increase our support to Ukraine and boost Europe’s defences even further.
The goal: to frighten people of the region, so they will stop supporting investments into defence & assistance to 🇺🇦.
Our answer: further increase of national defence spending; further increase of 🇪🇺 support to the Eastern Flank; stronger support to 🇺🇦 so that Ukraine prevails.X
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refutes Russian disinformation: the Republic of Latvia has not given its consent for its territory and airspace to be used to carry out attacks against targets in the Russian Federation ⤵️

As always great to meet @ZelenskyyUa. We agreed to work out a long term defence cooperation agreement between Latvia and Ukraine. I reiterated full support for early opening of the first chapter of EU-Ukraine accession talks. Europe needs Ukraine more than ever 🇱🇻 🇺🇦
Deny Ukraine membership in NATO, cut aid to Ukraine, promise Putin Donbas, praise Putin after he helps Iran, and now consider pulling troops out of Germany. How many gifts can Trump give Putin?
Today is an important day for our defense and for our relations with the European Union. The European support loan for Ukraine has been unblocked – €90 billion over two years. This package will strengthen our army, make Ukraine more resilient, and enable us to fulfill our social obligations to Ukrainians, as set out in law. It matters that Ukraine is securing this level of financial certainty – after more than four years of full-scale war.
We are working to ensure that the first tranche from this support package becomes available as early as May–June. The funds from the European package will be directed, among other priorities, to arms production, the procurement of necessary weapons from partners that we do not yet produce in Ukraine, and the preparation of our energy sector and critical infrastructure for the next winter.
During meetings in Cyprus, we will also discuss with partners further sanctions pressure on Russia over this war. The 20th package has been unblocked, and it must be followed by other sanctions steps. And we will continue exploring a new format of cooperation with our partners – Drone Deals – which has already proven effective in the Middle East and the Gulf. We believe that only through joint efforts can we achieve truly significant strength – and Europe deserves that kind of strength. Glory to Ukraine!
Deadlock over. The EU just cleared the way for the €90-billion-loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package.
Russia’s war economy is under growing strain, while Ukraine is getting a major boost.
We will provide Ukraine what it needs to hold its ground, until Putin understands his war leads nowhere.
Another night has proven that Russia does not deserve any easing of global policy or lifting of sanctions. Russia is betting on war, and the response must be exactly that: we must defend lives with all available means, and we must also apply pressure for the sake of peace with the same full force. I am grateful to those in the world who work with us in this way and who help Ukraine in a timely and comprehensive manner, fully aware that every act of support truly matters for saving lives. I thank Germany, Norway, and Italy, with whom we have already reached new agreements on supporting our air defense. We are working with the Netherlands on additional supplies.
In the morning, I received a report from the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Nearly 700 Russian drones were launched over the previous day, into the evening, and throughout the night. There were also missiles – 19 ballistic ones, as well as cruise missiles during the night. Most of the ballistic missiles targeted Kyiv. 636 drones and some of the missiles were shot down. Unfortunately, not all. There were hits and damage to ordinary residential buildings. Tragically, there are fatalities in Odesa, Kyiv, and Dnipro. Among those killed is a boy – he was 12 years old. My condolences to the families and loved ones. As of now, 100 people are reported wounded as a result of this single massive Russian attack.
There can be no normalization of Russia as it is today. Pressure on Russia must work. And it is important to fulfill every promise of assistance to Ukraine on time. There are many political commitments by partners that have already been announced but not yet implemented – including within the Ramstein format and on a bilateral basis. I have instructed the Commander of the Air Forces to contact those partners who earlier committed to providing missiles for Patriot and other systems. I expect a report on the results.
