Ontario's principals & vice-principals oppose the government’s move to pass legislation, overriding the protections enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, imposing a collective agreement on
CUPE members in Ontario. Full statement: https://t.co/9Hy51ilJ3a
So much talk about how to support CUPE.
When workers are on strike much of their concerns are financial.
When I walked a picket line, the drop offs of coffee, etc. piled up.
Think about grocery gift cards. Go to a picket line & hand them out.
What the government of Ontario has done to education assistants to-day, it can do to the construction trades, or doctors, or legal aid, or property, or any other ‘interest groups’ tomorrow. #onted#onpoli
To all those that have repeatedly told ed workers to quit if they aren't happy: What if a significant portion of #cupe's 55,000 resign? Won't schools have to remain closed? After all you're talking about jobs that can't even be filled on a daily basis when a worker is sick!
CUPE has announced a political protest on Nov 4. If the protest occurs, #YRDSB schools will be closed to students on Nov 4. Please know this decision was made with student safety as our first priority.

A two-week delay to a return to in-person learning is now being discussed by Cabinet. You know, four days since they announced a return on Jan. 5.
What’s changed since then?!
We support the plan of the government & public health officials to have staff and students return to in-school instruction in 2022, if it can be managed safely. Our statement: https://t.co/98JffLlgtJ
PCR and rapid tests are not available. Contact tracing has collapsed. There is no vaccine mandate for educators. Many children have only 1 dose or none.
With only 5 days left, can someone ask the Ontario government what their plan is for opening schools and keeping them safe?
