Another round of NDAA = another opportunity to advocate with @EvacOurAllies for the #AfghanAdjustment. We must honor our promises to those who supported the US mission in AFG - anything else is a moral failure and ignores the US history of supporting wartime allies. #AfghanAllies
Conflict + climate change: "Gaza’s aquifer, from which the population draws for drinking water and other uses, is already becoming saltier with a rise in the sea level" We should all be concerned about the plan to flood tunnels. https://t.co/1Hl5DcnFh1
The Solidarity Speaks series continues this week with Ahmed Helou of @cfpeace. This emergency webinar series provides the perspective of Palestinians and Israelis calling for an immediate ceasefire, an end to collective punishment, and discussing the impact of recent events.
🚨Big news! Texas loses its fight to keep the buoys in place in the Rio Grande. A federal judge grants the DOJ's request for an injunction and orders Texas to remove the 1,000 feet of buoy barrier in place across from Eagle Pass by September 15.
@SpeakSamuel Olathe. Did you see PHSHS ranks # 12 in MO now? Don’t you think tax dollars support a district with such a good reputation and performance?
I don’t think the feeling of shame and disgust for what America did when it left Afghanistan will ever leave me. This is one reason I advocate for the passage of the #AfghanAdjustmentAct.
A very interesting report showing the incredible impact Afghan parolees can make in the US if they are provided a pathway to adjustment of status by the #AAA. It also saves the US government $. Advocates continue to show Congress many reasons why this needs needs to pass.
The Afghan Adjustment Act is not just the most humane solution for Afghan refugees living in the U.S. It's also the most affordable. #ISupportAAA

“we need the intl community’s help to protect our most basic human right – the right to life. That right…includes access to adequate amounts of the safe and healthy food that we need to live.” @md_yasiein in @newhumanitarian - we fail the Rohingya again- https://t.co/VGaSKK3Cp5
Three years to the day and this poem still resonates after the shooting in Jacksonville by another white man carrying an AR-15 and the mantle of white supremacy.
Evacuated
Now they need a solution
Afghan Adjustment Act
My contribution to the @Afghan_American#AAAhaiku trend. Congress - it’s time to get it done! #AAA
🕯️thinking of the Rohingya who will today spend time commemorating the genocide that occurred six years ago and continue to face an uncertain future without justice.
