We prepare our minds for exams, our bodies for a race, and take refresher courses to keep our skill sets sharp on the job. How much more should we prepare and remain prepared to “give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”1Pet.3:15
@BethMooreLPM As a PW, CP & 27 years in, I deeply enjoyed hearing from you and Amanda today. Loved Amanda’s transparency about being a CP wife & so very thankful for your tenacious service to the body of Christ all these years Beth. I’m a better Christ-follower because of “you”.
Man oh man, just gonna say there ain’t no such thing as invulnerable love. Not on this earth anyway. Not in this skin. To be open to its joys is to be open to its aches and often simultaneously. Therein’s the rub but also the beauty. Love is costly but lovelessness is bankruptcy.
I'm deeply touched by the outpouring of condolences & prayers since the passing of my father @BillyGraham. This billboard is one example—did you see one? @LamarOOH developed & placed them in many cities at their own initiative & expense. Thank you! He truly has "Gone Home".
I keep thinking of a story told at Billy Graham’s funeral, how, if you walked in on him before a crusade, he might well be found facedown on the floor weeping & crying out to God. I wonder if we have lost our passion for souls. Our desperation for the Spirit. Our belief in hell.
Home after serving in South Florida. Known Jesus 52 yrs. Served in some capacity since I was 12. In ministry 38 yrs. Taught Bible 32. Never more utterly certain Christ’s gospel is the 1 solitary thing big, bold & beautiful enough to offer hope & sanity in this world’s brutality.
In a day when everybody wants to speak prophetically, the prize will go to those who love prophetically. By that I mean, love people like they’re hiding a broken, bruised or bewildered heart & get to the end of the day having been as right as you’ve ever been in your entire life.
Jesus is so worth it.
So worthy of it.
It’ll make you crazy to try to please all the power players in your field. We follow a Savior, not a system. You know in your heart what to do. You know where you no longer belong. Be true to Jesus. It’s all that will ultimately matter.
