So….in conclusion, does anyone have a recommendation for a good airline to fly with pups besides @SouthwestAir?? Really bummed bc felt they had the best under-seat space—carrier fit perfectly under with space to spare!

SO incredibly frustrated w/ @SouthwestAir! Early Dec. I flew from ABQ to MCO with my (full-grown) dog on SWA. Yesterday, was attempting to fly back to ABQ with same dog in the same carrier (and same dog & same carrier I’ve brought on maybe a dozen SWA flights before!). (Cont’d)

Wasn’t argumentative other than stating the above facts, was perfectly friendly about it, just very confused. So, I guess that’s it for my 35+ year-old “relationship” with @SouthwestAir! Hope that gate agent enjoyed her power trip. BTW, my dog weighs about 16 lbs.

Of course, my checked bag was already on plane by then. They basically said, oh, well, it’s going to ABQ. No refund offered for pet fee. So, I’m still here in MCO with the SAME dog and SAME carrier who flew here on @SouthwestAir last month with no problems. 😡 (Cont’d)

Checked in at MCO, paid pet fee, checked bag. No problem! Got to gate, and gate agent first tells me carrier is too big and won’t fit under seat (it absolutely isn’t! Checked the measurements for SWA before I bought it!). Then claimed dog was too big for carrier. (Cont’d)
