CEO @faunafloraint - since 1903 protecting the diversity of life on Earth for the survival of the planet and its people. #SavingNatureTogether Tweets are my own
I am delighted to be joining the international wildlife conservation charity @FaunaFloraInt as CEO in July 2023. It is the greatest privilege for me to lead this organisation at this critical moment in the future of our planet. https://t.co/PcyyBaDl7O
#COFI36 report adopted! Great closing remarks from @ThomsonFiji stressing the urgent need for action including the importance of addressing the negative impacts of foreign fisheries access arrangements on coastal communities and biodiversity
Pleased to be here at #COFI36@FaunaFloraInt. Sobering start ‘sustainability of fishery resources is a cause of concern. Urgent action is needed’. Hopefully this is a fruitful meeting to identify a path forward, recognising the key role of small-scale fishers in this action
The reality of #climate and #biodiversity loss is a topic we are becoming all too familiar with. We cannot adapt to and mitigate climate change without the help of nature, but we also cannot halt the loss of nature if we cannot slow down climate change.
This latter point was brought to a stark reality this week as we witnessed the devastation of so many islands across the #Caribbean by #HurricaneBeryl
Homes have been destroyed, ecosystems have been torn apart and lives have been lost. #ClimateChange is here, and it is having a catastrophic impact on @FaunaFloraInt staff, partners, their communities, and the #nature they are working so hard to protect and restore. Read more in our op-ed

After 14 years with the one and only @Oceans_North I will be departing at the end of the week. Later this summer I re-emerge as President and CEO of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. Can’t wait to keep hustling for the wellbeing of our natural word and the people who rely on it. @ASFSalmon
Some great #conservationjobs with @FaunaFloraInt at the moment from early career internships to skilled fundraising roles or running a coastal network in Scotland- have a look! https://t.co/qNvWrtyGIR

Warm congratulations & thanks on behalf of the ocean community to Dr. Arnoldo André, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, for the Immersed in Change conference that ended in San José this evening. The spirit of San José will now drive us forward to the UN Ocean Conference.
Peter Thomson, UNSG Special Envoy for the #Ocean@ThomsonFiji said @FAO#SOFIA2024 report is vital for #SDG 14 monitoring. Reporting exponential rise in Ocean science since 2010, he concluded: Action without knowledge is foolishness while knowledge without action is wastefulness!
