This next update will almost feel like a different game at this rate.

I'll probably favor longer and larger updates from now on over shorter and smaller ones.

It's WAY easier and time saving doing it this way, and makes a much bigger impact.

I'm FINALLY working on planets again! Instead of making all the art as I go along, I made a simple "template" system where I can do quick color swaps for different block types, then can come back and work on the art later. Good for prototyping! #coding #godot #solodev #indiedev

I'm honestly loving how responsive and snappy the movement feels now. While charging a boost, your ship's turn speed increased by 50%.

Also working on procedurally generated asteroids.

Movement updates!

-Charge boost your engine, allowing quick direction changes in the heat of combat.

-Starship trails, 'cuz it looks cool.

-You can now strafe back left and right instead of fighting momentum.

I HATE WORKING WITH UI SO MUCH I SWEAR TO GOD! Here's a planetary orbit state where you can select a celestial body to visit.

It also goes directly to the orbit state if you choose a planet as a destination in the Star System Map!

The ship doesn't just "warp" anymore, it DETONATES. Plus a big background and warp visuals overhaul.

Playing around with warp effects at the moment. I still need to work more on the warm-up and cool-down tho....

Also added in orbiting planets, giving you time to choose your destination or just coast in orbit for a while.
