She weighs 50 kg. The soldiers she carries out of hell can weigh twice as much.

56-year-old Oksana was a civilian accountant. Her two sons have fought since 2014.

On February 24, 2022, a russian missile hit her apartment building. The next morning, she went to the military enlistment office.

“I won’t leave until you take me.”

They took her as an accountant. But Oksana secretly completed medical training and went to the frontline — where her sons were fighting.

She became a combat medic.

She takes off her body armor to move faster across minefields. Wades waist-deep through mud with a backpack full of medicine held in her outstretched arms.

Once, under heavy fire, she and a fellow soldier pulled out a wounded fighter with a punctured lung. They covered him with their own bodies, called in the coordinates — and saved his life.

Another time, a drone hit their evacuation vehicle. The windows shattered. The wheels caught fire. Four critically wounded soldiers were trapped inside. No communications.

Oksana ordered the driver to keep going on the rims — and started singing “Kalyna.”

All four survived.

“The main thing is that all my boys are alive.”

When she saves someone, she thinks of her own sons. They have also been wounded in combat. Someone once risked their life to save them.

Oksana is 157 cm tall and weighs 50 kg.

She hasn’t taken leave in more than three years because she couldn’t leave her boys.

At home, her father, her dog Zhanna, and two granddaughters are waiting for her.

She has a medal for saving lives — and dozens of soldiers who are alive because she refused to give up.

Oksana doesn’t call herself a hero.

She simply does her job.

🇺🇦 SHE IS ONLY 21 YEARS OLD. AND RUSSIA HAS STOLEN THREE YEARS OF HER YOUNG LIFE.

Exactly three years ago, on August 20, 2023, Russian security forces stormed the home of Yana Suvorova in occupied Melitopol and took her away. She was just 18 years old.

Her “crime”? Yana refused to accept the Russian occupation of her hometown. She helped run the Telegram community “Melitopol Is Ukraine,” where Ukrainians could share information about life under occupation and where one simple truth continued to be spoken: MELITOPOL IS UKRAINE. 🇺🇦

For that, Russia turned an 18-year-old Ukrainian girl into a supposed “spy” and “terrorist.” Russian authorities accused her of collecting information about Russian forces that allegedly contributed to strikes against FSB and Rosgvardia facilities.

After her detention, pro-Ukrainian Telegram resources in Melitopol were hacked and taken over. Yana disappeared into Russia’s prison system.

On October 23, 2025, a Russian military court sentenced her to FOURTEEN YEARS in a penal colony on charges including “espionage,” involvement in a “terrorist community,” and “terrorism.”

FOURTEEN YEARS. For a young Ukrainian woman seized at 18 years old in her own occupied city.

Today Yana is being held in Detention Center No. 2 in Taganrog. She is now 21.

Think about that. At an age when young people should be studying, falling in love, traveling, building careers and dreaming about their futures, Yana has spent THREE YEARS behind Russian bars.

Three birthdays stolen. Three years stolen. Three years of youth that Russia can never give back.

Today, exactly three years after she was taken from her home, we must make sure her name is not forgotten.

HER NAME IS YANA SUVOROVA.

Say her name. Share her photograph. Tell her story. Remind the world that behind the statistics about Ukrainians held by Russia are REAL HUMAN BEINGS — with parents, friends, dreams and lives waiting for them at home.

Yana, hold on. You have NOT been forgotten. Ukraine remembers you. Ukraine is waiting for you. Ukraine is fighting for you. 🇺🇦
